Deepika Padukone taken ill – takes time off to visit parents

Barely has the dust settled over the hosannas she received for her sprightly performance in ��Cocktail�۪, news comes of her being taken ill and taking time out due to sheer exhaustion. Apparently Deepika Padukone had to stall the shoot of ��Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani�۪ midway because she felt so wiped out and weak.

“On Thursday, Deepika was shooting for a song with Ranbir Kapoor in Mehboob Studios. She had been feeling very low since the past couple of days. She underwent a check-up and was advised to take complete rest for the next five days at least. Naturally her parents were alarmed and advised her to come over to Bangalore, which would keep her away from her hectic schedule in Mumbai. Her shoot of Karan Johar’s ��Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani�۪ directed by Ayan Mukerji was taking at least 11-12 hours every day. Add to this her other meetings, which involved post-release promotions of Cocktail and meetings with filmmakers over fresh offers,” said a close friend of hers to The Times of India.

Padukone�۪s last turn as Vernoica D�۪Costa in ��Cocktail�۪ has got her unanimous praise from all quarters and the film scoring at the box office has benefited the actress immensely ��� but it seems the film�۪s success has come at a price with this recent mishap.
