After delivering back-to-back box office successes and a Hollywood movie in the offing, Deepika Padukone has reportedly received a huge pay rise.

Pune Mirror reports that Padukone will be paid an astronomical Rs. 12.62 crore for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Padmavati’ – that is 12 times what she was paid for the 2013 film ‘Ram Leela’.

A source tole the publication, “ForRam-Leela she got Rs 1 crore, for Bajirao-Mastani, which came two years later, it was Rs 7 crore, this time it is Rs 12.62 crore, making her the first Bollywood actress to break the Rs 10 crore barrier.”

The publication said it got hold of an email exchange between Deepika and Bhansali Productions where it was stated that she was offered Rs. 11 crore plus taxes (Rs. 12.62) for the film and Padukone responded with “okay” on the same day. The film is expected to go on the floors next month.

Padukone and Bhansali had been in talks over the role in ‘Padmavati’ for several weeks and now it seems confirmed.
