Deepika Padukone opens up about her bond with Sridevi at book launch

At the recent book launch on the life of Sridevi, unveiled by Boney Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, the latter spoke about her bond with the evergreen actress who passed away last February.

Cited on Pinkvilla, Padukone gave a tribute to the ‘Mom’ (2017) actress and shared how both Boney Kapoor and Sridevi have been champions of her work. She recollected how the couple sent her personalised messages for every film that she did and praised her performances. The actress revealed that not many people knew about her bond with Sridevi, but said she was a person that she was fond of at a personal level.

Padukone also added how maybe their South Indian roots brought them closer together, and that she had always admired the ‘English Vinglish’ (2012) actress.

The ‘Padmaavat’ (2018) star said she felt honoured to have been asked by the family to launch the book. Titled, ‘Sridevi: The Eternal Screen Goddess’ the book has been written by author and screenwriter Sathyarth Nayak, and will be released around mid-December.
