Deepika Padukone open to multi-starrer masala Hindi films

Whilst Deepika Padukone continues to win the audiences with her remarkable films and splendid onscreen performances, it has been a while since she has been seen in a multi-starrer masala Hindi film.

Greatly appreciated for her work in films such ‘Goliyon Ki Raas Leela Ram-Leela’ (2013), ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015) and ‘Padmaavat’ (2018), cinemagoers reportedly miss seeing Padukone in films like ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007), ‘Houseful’ (2010) and ‘Chennai Express’ (2013).

When asked by BollywoodLife if she was open to working in multi-starrer masala Hindi films such as Sajid Nadiadwala’s ‘Housefull’ franchise, or with Rohit Shetty’s idea of a female cop-universe to go with his male one, Padukone replied, “It depends. I don’t think it’s safe to label a film and say whether you’re doing it or not. Firstly, I have to be thought of in that context. The writers and Directors have to think of me in that context. They have to come to me with their script, their story, and I need to look at it as a whole. I don’t think I can make a decision about a film just based on random information. I think you’ve got to be very through in your information before you make a decision about any film.”

Padukone will next be seen in Meghna Gulzar’s ‘Chhapaak’ which releases today.
