Deepika Padukone on Ranveer Singh’s place in her life
Deepika Padukone is all set to foray into Hollywood and has recently wrapped up the shoot of her debut film, ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’. However, no matter whether she was across the world, rumours about her and alleged beau Ranveer Singh didn’t stop. The actress has spoken about him in an interview.
When asked by Hindustan Times on reports that there was trouble in their assumed relationship, Padukone replied, “I have never commented on anything before, so I wouldn�۪t say anything even now. He is someone who has always been and will always be an extremely important part of my life. That�۪s never going to change.”
She also spoke about whether perceptions of Asians are changing in Hollywood, “Definitely, it�۪s changing. I have done a full-fledged feature film. My work and Priyanka�۪s (Chopra; actor) performance in Quantico are the classic examples that testify the change. But if a mindset has been deeply engraved for so many years, like many things that are embedded in our culture, it�۪s not going to change overnight. But I always look at things positively, and believe that things are changing. And in whatever little capacity I can, I want to be part of that change.”
She also denied the rumours that she would feature in the next Brad Pitt film or as the next Bond girl, “Sometimes, I find some theories really strange, but I have never been one to talk about them. I have never felt the need to clarify rumours that involve my life. There is absolutely no truth to any of these two specific films.”
Padukone’s Hollywood debut is slated for release next year and also stars Vin Diesel.
