Deepika Padukone on her low phase as an actress

Deepika Padukone 340x

Although Deepika Padukone is one of the most sought-after actresses today, she has previously gone through a low patch, where she was pretty much written off. The actress says she accepted the criticism as a challenge and worked on improving herself.

Absolute India quote Padukone as having said at a recent event, “Even when I was written off, I took that as a challenge and healthy criticism and worked on that… Hard work is the key to a lot of things, but also it’s important to be passionate or rather do what you’re passionate about. And most importantly, enjoy yourself along the way – this has been the biggest learning. I’ve had fun through all the work that I’ve done and all the amazing people I’ve worked with, I’ve really had a good time.”

The actress went on to add that she had constant support from her family and also industry-insiders such as Shah Rukh Khan, Farah Khan and Imtiaz Ali.

Last seen in ‘Piku’ (2015), which won her much appreciation for her performance, Padukone will be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Tamasha’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Bajirao Mastani’ before the year ends.
