Deepika Padukone on her character in ‘Bajirao Mastani’

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious project ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is all set for release and the film’s leading lady, Deepika Padukone, spoke at a recent song trailer launch about her character in the film.

Desi Martini quote Padukone as saying, “Mastani is completely besotted and madly in love with Bajirao and it’s almost nasheela in a sense.�� It doesn’t matter to her, who is watching.�� She is intoxicated by love… Mastani is like a horse with blinkers with eyes for no one but Bajirao.”

On comparisons to her character in Bhansali’s previous film, ‘Ram Leela’ (2013), the actress added, “Mastani is very different from Leela.�� The characteristics are different, their energies are different.”

‘Bajirao Mastani’ stays Padukone alongside Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra.�� The film is slated for release on 18th December.
