Deepika Padukone, not Priyanka Chopra, in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next?

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming biopic, ‘Gustakhiyan’, entailing the relationship between poet Sahir Ludhianvi and author Amrita Pritam, might see Deepika Padukone essaying the role of Pritam and not Priyanka Chopra, as earlier reported.

The Deccan Chronicle reports a source saying, “Since Priyanka got along very well with ‘Gustakhiyan’ producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali, reports of her playing Amrita Pritam were taken to be authentic. But the truth is, Priyanka is not doing ‘Gustakhiyan’. After ‘Piku’ where they played a tentative couple, Irrfan and Deepika would get a chance to do a full fledged romantic film. It would be a terrific follow-up. On the other hand, Irrfan and Priyanka have only done ‘Saath Khoon Maaf’ together which was a dud at the box office.”

Padukone and Chopra both��recently worked with Bhansali in his last direction, ‘Bajirao Mastani'(2015), which is still creating waves at the box office.
