Deepika Padukone, who is amongst the most versatile actresses of the industry, is reportedly mastering Bengali diction for her forthcoming film ‘Piku’.

A source told NDTV, “Deepika has not only been doing workshops with the film’s director Shoojit Sircar, who happens to be a Bengali, but she also took help from veteran actor Moushumi Chatterjee.”

“During the recent Kolkata shooting schedule, Deepika sat down with Moushumi-di on the sets amid shots and learnt some Bengali _pronunciations,” added the source.

The 28-year-old actress said, “I’ve played a Tamilian, a Maharashtrian, a Gujrati (in Ram Leela), a Goan (in Finding Fanny), and now I’m playing a Bengali. It’s always fun to learn a new language, as it’s a different learning _experience. Bengali is a soft and lovely language. I’m enjoying the experience.”

‘Piku’ is a comedy drama, based on the father- daughter relationship. Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan is essaying the role of Padukone’s father. The film, which is being helmed by Shoojit Sircar, is scheduled to release on 30th April 2015.
