Deepika Padukone loses 10 lakh to ‘Cocktail’ producer

When Deepika Padukone told her ‘Cocktail’ (2012) producer that the song Daaru Desi would not be a hit, she was not expecting to lose out on anything until they both placed their bets.

According to the��Times of India,��when producer, Dinesh Vijan, protested about his song being a huge hit, he also raised the challenge to Padukone by placing a bet with her��of��one million rupees. When the song came out, the response obviously shocked the actress and although she knew that, as a friend,��Vijan would not think much of the bet, she still paid him in full.

However, Padukone gained more than she lost as ‘Cocktail’ has done extremely well at the box office. Padukone who plays a modern day troubled girl with a broken background received high acclaim for her outstanding performance, proving she is indeed a great actress with many more great performances to come.
