Deepika Padukone joins Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Pathan’ as a fellow agent

Shah Rukh Khan recently began shooting for ‘War’ (2019) director Sidharth Anand’s ‘Pathan,’ which will be a part of Yash Raj Films’ prestigious 50th anniversary celebrations. Khan will also accompanied by John Abraham and Deepika Padukone in the film.

Sources say that Padukone will be playing the role of an agent in the film, reports Bollywood Hunugama. She will be juggling between this movie and Shakun Batra’s next feature. ‘Pathan’ will require her to film a major chunk of action packed sequences, that will be shot between January and June 2021.

‘Pathan’ is set in a world of agents and she will be prepping to perform a lot of action. Similarities will be made to Katrina Kaif’s Zoya from the ‘Tiger’ franchise.

Yash Raj Films is apparently creating a universe of agents in a super franchise. It is being reported that Salman Khan will make an appearance as Tiger in ‘Pathan,’ Shah Rukh to appear as Pathan in ‘Tiger 3,’ and both of them to appear in the ‘War’ sequel alongside Hrithik Roshan’s Kabir.

‘Pathan’ will mark Shah Rukh’s first appearance on the screen almost three years after his last release, ‘Zero’ (2018), which was directed by Aanand L Rai.
