It’s important for actors to get the role of their characters exactly right which is why Deepika Padukone has been spending some extra time in preparing for her role as a Gujarati girl, for her upcoming project ‘Ram Leela’.

Starring opposite Ranveer Singh in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali production, Times of India report how the actress, along with her stylist and designer, went off on a Gujarati shopping spree, picking out traditionalghagra/chuniya cholis and suits. And with Navratri not so long ago andDiwali celebrations straight after, they must have been spoilt for choice.

As well as Gujarati outfit shopping, news also has it that in order to keep up to Bhansali’s perfect standards, Padukone is also practicing her Gujarati Garbamoves. Already having seen the success of playing versatile roles, Padukone seems to want to nail every aspect of her career on the head and with the correct look and the moves, all that’s left for this character is the language. Question is, with Gujarati not being her first language, how well does Padukone know it, and how well will she be able to pull it off?
