Deepika Padukone gets candid about ex Ranbir Kapoor

When you’re in a relationship that’s always in the limelight, the unwanted attention and constant prying must takes its toll. Deepika Padukone will readily admit that this was the case when she was dating her ex Ranbir Kapoor. However, instead, she chooses to highlight how she’s matured, in a recent interview.

Talking to Times of India, Padukone reveals how she felt immediately after the break-up, “Obviously, when it happened, it hurt me for a very long time but as you mature, you realise that everything that happens, is for the good. I have opened up a lot as a person as a result. It gave me a lot of confidence that I did not have earlier”.

She spoke about her experience with working with Kapoor in ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’ which is slated for release next year, “Ayan has seen us through our best and worst part of our relationship. In fact, when our break up happened, I even cut myself off from Ayan since he was close to Ranbir. Ayan could have gone with anyone else for his film, but he saw our comfort and realised that genuinely we had both moved on in our lives”.

It is certainly refreshing to hear of the actress speaking in an evolved way. Let’s hope their off-screen comfort translates well on-screen and creates the magic it did in ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ (2008).
