Newly married Deepika Padukone has been named the first woman to enter the Top 5 in the Forbes India’s 2018 list.
Padukone’s only release this year ‘Padmaavat’, proved a huge Bollywood blockbuster. Owing to this, the actress raked in an astronomical Rs. 112.8 crore this year. She was placed at No.4. Her husband, Ranveer Singh, was placed at No.8 with Rs. 84.67 crore in the same period.
The biggest Indian celebrity on top of the list for the third consecutive year was Salman Khan, with earnings around Rs. 253.25 crore. Cricketer Virat Kohli finished at No.2 and Akshay Kumar was placed at No.3 with Rs. 185 crore. Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan held on to the No.6 and No.7 spots respectively. Sachin Tendulkar and Ajay Devgn rounded off the Top 10 list at No.9 and No.10. Shah Rukh Khan dropped from No.2 last year to No.13 this year.
Surprisingly, Priyanka Chopra dropped from No.7 last year to No.49 this year with Rs. 18 crore earnings. Other actresses in the list that impressed were Alia Bhatt at No.12 with earnings of Rs. 58.83 crore this year, Anushka Sharma was at No.16 with Rs. 45.83 crore.
