Rumours are the order of the day when it comes to B-town. They are only ever laid to rest or fuelled more when the person or people involved speak out for themselves. This is the case with Deepika Padukone who was said to be the confirmedfemale lead in Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor’s joint venture. The actress has given clarification that she has not yet been approached for the movie.

As reported by the Deccan Chronicle, Padukone has said, “I۪m very fond of Karan and I have great respect for him. But as for doing the film, I have no idea where the rumours even started from”. The news was out that Kareena Kapoor, who was the original choice, had moved away from the project as she didn’t want to act opposite Emraan Hashmi who will be the male lead.

Speaking about potentially working with Hashmi, she commented,”I۪d love to work with Emraan. Currently he is one of the most viable actors in the industry”.

Well, this certainly puts a spanner in the works for the rumour mills. It remains to be seen which actress will bag the project and it seems an official announcement beckons.
