Deepika Padukone auditioned for Tom Cruise starrer?

With recent news that Huma Qureshi had tried out for the part, if reports are to be believed, actress Deepika Padukone also took the leap and auditioned for a role in Tom Cruise’s next forthcoming reboot of the film ‘The Mummy’.

According to��Spoyboye, the actress had auditioned for the part of an Egyptian girl who will be seen as one of the main characters. Having not heard anything from the makers yet, a source close to the film crew was reported revealing, “They are looking at other options. Even if Deepika doesn�۪t make the cut, the very fact that she was in the running for an important role in a Tom Cruise starrer is quite a high in itself.”

Padukone’s first Hollywood production will see her star opposite Vin Diesel in the action packed thriller ‘xXx: The Return of Xander Cage’. Here’s hoping all goes well for her next Hollywood venture.
