Despite understanding the importance of the costumes when it comes to filmmaking, costume designers are somewhat pushed rather at the back of the line in an event of presenting recognition for a films success. However, actress Deepika Padukone is one to make sure her costume designer for ‘Ram Leela’, is well and truly noticed.
Whilst talking to the media, Padukone was all praise for Anju Modi, who is responsible for designing the extravagant Gujarati attire, for the film. “Anju has done a fabulous job considering this is her first feature film…I felt in the character the minute I wore the clothes. I felt like Leela,” NDTVreported the actress expressing.
Judging from the trailer alone, one can only agree with Padukone. With the actress looking absolutely stunning, and definitely looking her part of a Gujarati girl, she goes onto say, “I think that is the most important aspect when a designer comes on board. It’s so important to allow the actor to feel like the character.”
Directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, ‘Ram Leela’ is set for release on 15th November 2013.
