Sony Entertainment Television Asia UK’s Head of Marketing Debarshi Pandit has quit the channel and will be leaving his post this week.
During his four-year tenure at Sony TV UK’s operations, Debarshi spearheaded the MAX MIX and VIEWASIA bouquets. His work included liaising with the channel partners regularly to ensure cohesiveness in marketing communications and the overall objectives met in terms of subscriber growth.
About his next move, Debarshi confirmed to��BizAsia.co.ukthat he will be joining one of the world’s biggest advertising and marketing holding companies – Omnicom as the Head of OMG – Ethnic. Omnicom Media Group embarked on a path breaking research project into the media behaviour of the UK’s black and minority ethnic (BME) population.
About his work at Omnicom, Debarshi said, “My remit would be to promote ethnic audiences with the help of this proprietary research to the mainstream advertisers both within the holding group of Omnicom (PHD, OMD, AMV BBDO, DDB, TBWA, etc) and outside whoever wants to target this market.”
Debarshi officially joins Omnicom on Monday 17th January 2011.
