Deal for Akshay Kumar’s ‘Gabbar’ struck at 78 crores
After much speculation, ��Gabbar�۪ is indeed going to be a Viacom 18 release it seems and after a not perfect year last year, it may well be that Akshay Kumar is back with a bang. BizAsia has learnt that the film�۪s production house, Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films, have collaborated with Viacom 18 for 78 crores.
A source is quoted by India Today, ���Last year, the studio struck a big deal with SLB Films for their upcoming movies. But after a while it decided to go slow on the commitments and renegotiate on a few deals, following which there were multiple meetings with Bhansali�.
���The deal has been locked at Rs.78 crore. Akshay was clear on the price and didn’t want any renegotiation arguing that certain films need a budget and ‘ Gabbar’ is one of them. The studio is happy with the final outcome,� added the source.
The film will be Sunil ��Guthi�۪ Grover play a small role and it also stars R Madhavan and Shruti Hassan.
