David Dhawan’s ‘Judwaa 2’ hurts religious sentiments?

David Dhawan’s upcoming ‘Judwaa 2’ is a film many are looking forward to. However, the director has been accused of hurting religious sentiments in a scene where son Varun Dhawan – who is male lead – is seen as Lord Krishna with a saxophone rather than a flute.

“It was all in fun. In a song-and-dance sequence Varun dresses up as Lord Krishna and plays the saxophone. The censor board has asked all the shots  of Varun as Lord Krishna to be removed,” said a source close to the film, according to SKJ.

Dhawan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala were left with no choice but to remove the scene after the CBFC took objection. A source from the classification board said, “You can’t cast any actor as Rama or Krishna .Human beings can no longer play God.”

The film, which releases this month, had a total of five cuts and got a UA certificate.
