Dalai Lama apologises after asking boy to “suck my tongue”
The Dalai Lama has been forced to apologise after kissing a boy on the lips and asking him to “suck his tongue” at an event in India.
The event is reported to have taken place in late February at the Dalai Lama’s temple in Dharamshala. It was attended by around 100 young students who had just graduated from the Indian M3M Foundation.
The video was condemned by many. He was branded “inappropriate”, “scandalous” and “disgusting”.
In a statement released by the Dalai Lama. It said, “His holiness wishes to apologise to the boy and his family as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused.
“His holiness often teases people he meets in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras. He regrets the incident.”
