Changes announced at BBC Asian Network
The BBC Asian Network has announced immediate internal changes with the addition of three new posts, which include the following; Head of News, Head of Music and Network co-ordinator. Also in the offing will be a new documentary strand on a weekly basis to air on Monday evenings at 18:30. The new documentary slot will play a key part in the station’s new schedule which rolls out in January 2006. The network is also further enhancing its marketing with more live events to be announced shortly on the success of the Asian music at Glastonbury for the past two years. Marketing strategies also include a further boost in London where it faces stiff competition from Sunrise Radio and Club Asia.

Vectone encrypt channels
As revealed exclusively by Biz Asia previously, Vectone has now encrypted two of its Bengali channels. Vectone Channel I and Vectone Bangla available on EPG 814 and 820 respectively will now only be viewed with subscription.
