New character in ZEE’s Kareena…
Two weeks ago Screen magazine had written that Shital Thakkar was looking for work on the telly after a short break. Well, the gal has now bagged herself an important role in Zee?s Kareena Kareena. As Tarana, she will be the new angle to the Tushar-Kareena love story. After losing his company, Tushar takes up another job where he meets Tarana who is the owner?s daughter. A rich, spoilt girl with an attitude, Tarana at first is irritated with Tushar but gradually starts liking him. ?I cannot reveal more about my character at this stage. This role gives me a break from the sarees and bindi I was sporting in Ye Meri Life Hai. Here you will see me in western wear, hats and shades,? says Shital excitedly. Talking about her first day of the shoot, Shital says since she was facing the camera after a considerable gap she had buttlerflies in her stomach, ?but everything went off smoothly.? Farhan Akhtar in STAR One’s new show
His cousin, choreographer Farah Khan, was a judge on Indian Idol, while father Javed Akhtar is on the jury of Fame Gurukul, both on Sony. Now writer-director Farhan Akhtar (director of Dil Chahta Hai and Lakshya) follows suit as judge in the STAR One show, Nach Baliye.

Nach Baliye, which airs on STAR One India from 11th October, will have telly couples battling for the crown of best dancing duo. The reality-based show will also look at the stars? personal lives, as they prepare to be in step with each other.

Ask him about being on a rival channel to the one his father and cousin are on, and he quips, ?There?s nothing like that. STAR One approached me and I liked the project. It sounded like loads of fun and I took it up.? (From Mid-Day)
