STAR News claims top news channel in India
STAR News has announced that the Mumbai floods has helped the channel reach the top spot in India with India’s leading channel Aaj Tak. According to latest Tam data, quoted by STAR News, the channel enjoyed a 25% share among C&S 15+ audiences in the Hindi speaking markets (HSM) for the week ended 6th August. NDTV and ZEE News lagged behind, holding a share of 15% share each. In Mumbai, however, STAR News was a clear leader in this audience group with a 33% share, followed by Aaj Tak (28%), while NDTV India and ZEE News shared the third slot (11 per cent each). KBC2 breaks viewing figures record
STAR Plus is celebrating today with the news that its second run of Kaun Banega Crorepati has notched up huge viewer numbers. The show scored an audience of 13.8 (TVR) and is the highest ever for an opening one-hour show in India.

The Rising Special on B4U Music
B4U Music will be a running a special show to coincide with this weekend’s big movie release The Rising. The film stars Aamir Khan, Rani Mukherjee and Toby Stephens. The latter can be seen on B4U Music Special on Saturday 13th August at 19:00.

Anil Kapoor on Sony’s Fame Gurukul
Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor is known for not believing in endorsing products or making celebrity appearances. But the actor goes against his self-written rules as he makes an appearance on Fame Gurukul as their celebrity judge in next week’s UK episode.
