It looks like Salman Khan’s upcoming ‘Dabangg 2’ has fallen into a bit of trouble. Apparently the song Pandey Ji Seetisounds very similar to the song Chalat Musafirfrom the 1967 Raj Kapoor film ‘Teesri Kasam’, and the family of the late lyricist and film makerShailendra have sent a legal notice to the ‘Dabangg 2’ team.
“There۪s definitely an issue of copyright infringement… No consent was taken from the family. So, we have raised the issue that some acknowledgement be given to Shailendra and Shankar Jaikishen,” saidthe yesteryear filmmaker’s granddaughter, Priyanka Shaily Shailendra to the Hindustan Times.
However music composers Sajid-Wajid have hit back stating that they have used a folk tune in order to target the song at the younger generation, “Our lawyer has replied to the legal notice. We۪ve used a folk tune, which is a national property and brought it out for today۪s generation,” Sajid explained.
Set to release on 21st December, ‘Dabangg 2’ also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Arbaaz Khan, who has also produced and directed the film.
