Crowdfunding page set-up to help radio host Rishi Modi’s hospital fees

A crowdfunding page has been set-up for popular UK radio presenter, Rishi Modi, who has admitted into hospital during a family trip in Kenya.

Modi, who previously worked at Sabras Radio in Leicester as the station’s Breakfast host and Production Assistant, flew to Kenya to meet his family after a gap of 17 years.

The page set-up by one of his friends and former work colleague, Meera Majithia, said, “He has been in Kenya since November-start. However on Saturday 28th November, Rishi contracted coronavirus and has been admitted into hospital with breathing difficulties. Naturally, the costs of treatment in a foreign hospital are high and his family have been struggling to meet the high-demand costs.

Rishi is currently in ICU and on a ventilator. We are all praying for his speedy recovery. Any monetary help at this stage will help towards the cost. The money will only be spent on his recovery in hospital. If you can’t help, that’s okay – just please remember our Rishi in your prayers for a quick recovery.

As many people are aware, Rishi has had a turbulent year dealing with mental health issues and the bereavement of his grandmother. However, despite this, Rishi has been working on his mental health through counselling sessions and treatments. Let’s help to ensure he continues to fight through this horrible time, so he comes back to his UK home stronger.”
