Court directs RGV to credit ‘Sarkar 3’ writer

As previously covered by BizAsiaLive.com , Ram Gopal Varma has been busy preparing for ‘Sarkar 3’ which releases this weekend.  However, the film maker, has been directed by a judge in the Bombay High Court, to give the correct credit to Nilesh Girkar (who is the writer for the film).

According to DNA India, the judge stated that Varma must mention reference to Girkar in the prints of the film, the television/satellite and digital formats, and will have to quote ‘Based on a story written by Nilesh Girkar’ in the opening credits.

Girkar has been given the permission to take out the money deposited by Varma who did so as ‘script writing fees’.  The court acknowledged that even though Girkar wrote the script of the film, he was not credited properly by Varma.

Girkar stated that he would get paid with a fixed amount when the shooting begins, but this was not honoured by Varma.
