Confirmed: STAR’s Sameer Nair to join NDTV

Its finally been confirmed that STAR TV Network’s Sameer Nair is joining NDTV’s Hindi channel subsidiary ‘Imagine’ when he leaves later this month.

Speculation has been rife about his next assignment since he announced his much publicised exit from STAR in January. Nair will join NDTV Imagine as CEO and Director according to a statement that NDTV made to the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The statement read: “Sameer Nair is joining NDTV Imagine Ltd as CEO and Director. NDTV Imagine Ltd is a subsidiary of NDTV Networks PLC.” NDTV Imagine is one of the subsidiaries that were created earlier this year when NDTV had announced its intention to branch out of the news genre. The other subsidiary is NDTV Lifestyle.

Film director Karan Johar’s Dharma Production also holds a share in NDTV Imagine.

Sameer Nair is currently working his notice period and leaves STAR on Monday 26th March, he will join NDTV Imagine thereafter.
