Madhuri steps into Sridevi’s shoes for ‘Shiddat’

While there were rumours about Madhuri Dixit taking up ‘Shiddat’ in the role that Sridevi was due to be seen in before her sad demise, many were adamant that this hadn’t been thought about yet. However, less than a month after Sridevi’s death, it is no confirmed that Dixit will be seen in the film.

Abhishek Varman is due to direct the film, which has been speculated as titled ‘Shiddat’, produced under the Dharma Productions banner. Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor revealed the news on her Instagram, thankful to Dixit for taking on the part.

The film is meant to have a multi starcast, none of of have been confirmed as yet – apart from Dixit. Speculation was rife that the film would star Sanjay Dutt opposite Sridevi as well as bring together Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt too.

It will be interesting to see whether Dixit does end up sharing the screen with Dutt, given their colourful past.
