Confirmed: Bhaskar Das joins ZEE as Group CEO

Veteran media personality, Bhaskar Das has joined ZEE as Group CEO, who will head a new entity under ZEE Entertainment Enterprise Ltd which will include all the news operations of the ZEE Group ��� ZEE News Ltd. including ZEE News, ZEE Business, Marathi news channel ZEE 24 Taas and Bengali news channel 24 Ghanta, DNA and digital businesses.

Das, who has previously been associated with Bennett Coleman & Company Limited (BCCL), joins his former colleague Pradeep Guha. Guha was previously Times of India Group president and director and became CEO of ZEEL.

Das’s responsibility will launch new digital initiatives and expand the network’s news business. He is also likely to spearhead the new English news channel and push further its news channels in regional markets. He will report directly to chairman Subhash Chandra.

Das’ appointment follows the exit of ZEE News Ltd CEO Barus Das who looked after the ZEE news channels for the past five years. Following his exit, Cheil Worldwide South West Asia CEO Alok Agrawal was appointed as ZNL CEO.
