‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ to end in January 2016

Colors’ weekend flagship show ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ will be wrapping up on the channel in mid-January 2016.

Host and comedian, Kapil Sharma is reportedly unhappy with the channel after it introduced ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ on Saturday nights. Apparently, the channel is said to be giving preference to the latter show over the long running Sharma show.

Sharma said, “We have been successfully entertaining the audience for the past three years with our content. But when our show became a habit for the viewers, they introduced another one on similar lines. Celebrities who readily agreed to come on our show were told that they will have to make an appearance on the other show as well. I understand the pressure on the channel to work towards making their shows a hit, but not at the cost of sabotaging an established one.”

‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ is expected to breathe it’s last on 17th January 2016. There are talks saying the show will move to Star Plus. An official announcement on the same is awaited.
