Upsana Singh, the actress known to play ‘Bhua Ji’ in ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’ and ‘Comedy Nights Live’ has exited from the show after differences.

Singh, who had stayed with Colors’ ‘Comedy Nights Live’ when Kapil Sharma’s family defected to Colors, expressed her disappointment at producers Optimystix.

In an exclusive chat with SpotBoye, Singh gave a no-holds barred interview saying, “One should work in a place where he/she gets job satisfaction. What is live about Comedy Nights Live? It’s Comedy Nights Dead. Mujhe bilkul maza nahi aa raha tha. Besides, Optimystix ditched me on not just the agreement but payment as well. Till date, I have been paid for only 2 days of work when I have worked for 4 months with them. We had mutually agreed on certain clauses 4 months ago, now they have sent me some new clauses to sign upon.”

She added, “They said that I will be seen in every episode. They said that I will be a very important character in the show. They said that I will be paid my acting fees every 30 days. Aur aisa kuch bhi nahi hua. Add this to the fact that I was not happy creatively. I was very unsatisfied. I never felt that I was doing any comedy. Kuch likha hi nahin hota tha. I used to go up to the director and tell him: If I can’t laugh while reading your lines, how will the viewers laugh? And I felt very uncomfortable too.”

Asked if she would approach Kapil Sharma’s team on Sony TV, she said, “No, I won’t approach them. I am not short of work. I am doing Santoshi Maa. Even before Comedy Nights with Kapil, I have done a good amount of work. I have survived in this industry for a long time and shall always do all my assignments diligently. But yes, I want to tell Optimystix that they are not the only company who provide work to the acting fraternity on Indian television.”
