Comcast keen to acquire 21st Century Fox assets?

US media giant, Comcast has reportedly expressed its interest to acquire 21st Century Fox’s assets.

Earlier, Disney, Verizon and Sony Pictures were also said to be linked to the sale. However, it seems Comcast has approached 21st Century Fox about buying all or part of the assets, which include Hollywood studio – 20th Century Fox, Fox Searchlight and the broadcasting sector.

Comcast owns the NBC Network and Universal Studios, which means any deal would need approval by the competition authorities.

21st Century Fox is expected to retain its news and sport TV assets and News Corp, which controls its newspaper and online brands.
