Colors UK swaps ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ & ‘Udaan’ slots

In an effort to further boost its primetime ratings, Colors has decided to experiment moving time slots of two of its popular fictions.

Starting from Monday 9th November, ‘Sasural Simar Ka’, which airs at 19:30 and ‘Udaan’ in the 20:00 slot, will swap timebands. The latter has proved a lot better in UK ratings than the former. It is likely that the broadcaster has moved ‘Udaan’ in the 19:30 slot to compete directly with ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ on rival Star Plus, which rules the slot in the UK.

Colors UK has tried sticking to the same time slots as the Colors India schedule. However, in recent months, Colors UK has begun moving away from the concurrent format due to different tastes and habits of viewers in the UK. With the way the current weekday Colors UK schedule stands, none of the shows air at the same time as India anymore. However, weekend shows – ‘Bigg Boss 9’ and ‘Comedy Nights’ are in same slots in both countries.
