Colors to sponsor the Diwali celebrations at House of Commons

Colors is to support The Hindu Forum of Britain (HFB) in hosting the annual Diwali celebrations at the House of Commons.

Traditional Hindu prayers will be conducted and an Annukut (Hindu holy offering of food) will be displayed by Santan Mandir Leicester.

Traditional Bharatanatyam dances and musical performances will also be performed during the evening by Hindu students and musicians. The celebratory evening is hosted by the General Secretary of the HFB, Ms Bhartiben Tailor, held today at the Members Dining Room, House of Commons, from 4pm ��� 6pm.

Special guests include Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg, Leader of the Opposition Ed Milliband, newly appointed Lord Popat of Harrow, Lord Dholakia. The parliamentary hosts are Rt Hon Keith Vaz MP, Sarah Teather MP and Paul Uppal MP. Hindu guests from abroad include honourable Mahaprabhudas, General Sectetary of the Hindu Forum of Europe, and Prabhudas Pattni Secretary General of the Hindu Council of Africa.

The event will be aired on Colors during the Diwali weekend on Sky Digital channel 829.
