TV18 and Viacom18۪s local and international distribution wing, IndiaCast has announced a new EPG number for Colors UK on Sky Digital. This change would be effective from Monday 4th April 2016. As a part of this change, Colors UK will be available on EPG number 786 on Sky. This move will, further make the channel visible on the first page of the International channels selection guide menu for Sky subscribers.

Adding further, Anuj Gandhi, Group CEO – IndiaCast, said, IndiaCast has always endeavoured to present quality entertainment options to the Indian diaspora across the globe bringing them one step closer to Indian culture and content. Moving Colors UK up to EPG number 786 enables us to create top-of-mind recall for the channel and its content thereby building engagement with Sky subscribers.۝

Commenting on the change, Govind Shahi, Head Viacom18 UK said, Colors UK has been showcasing the best offerings from the Viacom 18 content library to South Asian viewers. As we move the channel to EPG number 786, we are hoping to enhance sampling amongst SKY subscribers, thereby bringing audiences closer to superior quality and inspiring content۝

Bangla TV, which currently sits on EPG 786 on Sky is expected to move to Colors’ old slot 821 from the same day. It is an unusual move by a broadcaster to move to an EPG slot, which already has a third-party channel available in. Bangla TV may have been offered a huge incentive to be swapping channel numbers with Colors. With this news, Colors will move closer to its rival channels on the Sky EPG line-up – Sony Entertainment Television Asia (782), Star Plus (784), ZEE TV (788) and &TV (795). It is believed, Colors has decided to shift the channel to find it easier to locate and also to improve its ratings. Colors is facing a tough time due to its sister channel, Rishtey getting a larger reach than the flagship service. Rishtey will remain on Sky EPG 822.

Sky subscribers will be intimated about the new EPG number for Colors UK through an announcement on the network as well as via social media platforms. Currently, the channel۪s feed is available to subscribers on multiple platforms including Sky, Virgin, Freesat, YUPP TV, Lebara Play, Ditto TV & Cinefuntv.
