Colors to launch on US’ Dish Network; UK next

The launch of India’s leading Hindi entertainment channel, Colors has been eagerly awaited in the international market.

It’s now confirmed that the Viacom-18 owned channel will launch in the USA early next year (by February) as Aapka Colors (Respectfully your Colors) on the Dish Network platform.

This will be the first time that Colors will make a splash outside India. Colors dethroned the leader then, STAR Plus, within nine months to be India�۪s ultimate entertainment choice.

It is not known why the group has decided to brand the channel Aapka Colors for its international viewers as oppose to just Colors. A similar brand exercise may also be deployed in the UK when it launches here at the beginning of 2010.

Colors has been finalising a launch in the UK for the past few months and is likely to sign up with either Multi Screen Media’s VIEWASIA or even ZEE Network as it has been highly speculated recently.
