'Uttaran' faces axe on Colors?

With ‘Bigg Boss 7’ ending and two new shows starting this month, that’s not the only change expected on Colors, with rumours of ‘Uttaran’ facing the axe.

Word has it that ‘Uttaran’ producers have had a notice by the channel to wrap up the story next month if ratings do not pick up. Times Of India reports that two new dramas are in the queue to take its place – Trilogy Krikois’ ‘Vibhuti’ and the other one is a show starring Giaa Manek.

Producer Pintoo Guha (Filmfarm Productions) told the publication, “All good things have to end one day. It’s a matter of TRPs after all. If audiences want to see the show for some more time, I am sure the channel will keep the show. So nothing secretive about the show as we all know that the story can’t go on and on and it has to end someday. We have discussed this matter with the channel and have been told that if the show is not doing well on TVTs, then it’s better to pull off the show and we will be happy with the decision they take.”

“Uttaran has ruled millions of hearts for years now, so if it is going off air, there is nothing wrong in it. Look at the positive side of the story that the show is loved and celebrated by audiences even now,” signs off the producer.

‘Uttaran’ has been one of Colors’ longest running dramas. It sure will leave a gaping hole in the channel’s schedule.
