Colors lines up big guns to combat Kapil Sharma

Colors has lined-up a thrilling weekend of entertainment to combat the comedy juggernaut, Kapil Sharma, on rival Sony Entertainment Television Asia.

Sharma’s new weekend series ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ gets underway this coming Saturday at 21:00 and to counter-attack the launch, Colors has lined up blockbuster movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’ on Saturday during the same slot. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, is being heavily promoted on the channel ahead of its World TV Premiere.

Then on Sunday, Colors will broadcast a special combined episode of ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ and ‘Comedy Nights Live’ from 21:00. Incidentally, Sharma was previously a part of the latter show before defecting to Sony TV. ‘Comedy Nights Bachao’ is the channel’s most popular weekend show after ‘Naagin’.

‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ launch episode featuring Shah Rukh Khan will air over a two-hour period, while the Sunday night episode will switch to its regular 60-minute broadcast.
