Colors continues its successful run in India

The recently launched Hindi entertainment channel in India, Colors, is doing what no other could do! It continues to give rivals a run for their money – including ZEE TV!

After dislodging Sony Entertainment Television Asia from the number three slot a couple of weeks ago, Colors has once again secured a position within the Top 3.

According to data released for week 34 from audience research firm TAM Media Research (C&S, 4+, HSM), Colors sits comfortably at number 3 with a 13 per cent viewership share in the GEC pie, gaining 2 per cent since last week, while Sony Entertainment Television Asia, after losing 3 per cent, commands a 8 per cent share in Week 34, the TAM data reveals.

Colors’ big property ‘Bigg Boss’ has outdone its rivals by scoring an average rating of 2.6 across the week, the launch episode delivered 2.48 TRPs. Hindi feature film ‘Welcome’ has helped the audience lead into ‘Bigg Boss’ with a TVR of 1.98.

Continuing with the trend of the opening week, ‘Balika Vadhu’ has delivered the highest amongst the scripted shows with an episode peak of 2.92. ‘Jai Shri Krishna’ has managed an average weekly TVR of 2.07, with a peak of 2.45.

Colors has a total of 163 points this week, compared to ZEE TV’s 220 points. The industry is watching this one closely – will Colors be able to narrow the gap with ZEE TV anymore in weeks to come? Wait and see, we’ll keep you posted.
