Colors axes ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ & ‘Laado 2’

Colors will be bidding adieu to two underperforming shows in the coming weeks, its been confirmed.

‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ and ‘Laado 2’ have been under the scanner for a number of weeks.

Avika Gor, lead actress of ‘Laado 2’ told Times Of India, “I haven’t been officially informed about the last date of telecast, but yes, I have heard that the show is going to end soon.”

Talking about the abrupt changes in the script recently, she added, “Initially, I was in awe of my character, Anushka, who is a strong, independent and educated woman. I have always wanted to be play an inspiring character. However, the script that was narrated to me turned out to be different from what unfolded. Too many changes were made too soon. According to the original script, Ammaji (Meghna Malik) was supposed to die after four months, following which Anushka would step into her shoes. However, Ammaji’s character died in just a month. Soon after, Yuvraj (Shaleen Malhotra) was killed on the show and a new guy (Siddharth Arora) was roped in opposite me. The shift from Veerpur to Chandigarh, too, was abrupt.”

Similarly, ‘Dil Se Dil Tak’ also underwent a number of changes over the past few months, with lead actor Siddharth Shukla being replaced with Rohan Gandotra. Confirming the news about the show’s rumoured exit, Gandotra said, “In between, our show was aired only thrice a week, but that’s not because of low ratings. It was the channel’s strategy to promote other shows, but now, we are back to airing on five days. Having said that, it’s true that the ratings are not as high as we had expected them to be. I feel that the viewers were not able to connect with the track that revolved around one man living with two wives. Also, the ongoing cricket tournament is eating into the viewership of almost all fiction shows. I am not aware of the show going off air yet, but it is highly possible.”

Both shows are expected to end on Friday 25th May 2018.
