Colors adds optional English subtitles on all shows

For the first time since its launch in the UK, Colors has added optional English subtitles on all its output including shows and films.

Similar to ZEE Network’s feature, viewers can manually turn on or off English subtitles via the Sky Digital remote. To make use of the facility on Sky Digital, viewers can press the “Help” button and then select “On”, which will turn on the subtitles.

Colors has been broadcasting without subtitles since its inception in the UK. Other broadcasters (exception of ZEE Network) incorporate subtitling into selected shows. Recently, Star Plus added subtitles on all shows.

Broadcasters usually need extra time to add subtitles to shows before going on-air. This is the reason why some show launches are delayed in the UK to India. Colors (with Star Plus) has stepped ahead of its competition by bringing same day telecast of shows with digital optional subtitles.

The subtitles feature is currently not available to Colors’ viewers on Virgin Media.
