Colors acquires ‘Guinness World Records’ format

In what is becoming a norm for Indian TV channels, Colors is the latest to acquire an international show format, this time around it�۪s the ‘Guinness World Records’.

The show, which airs on BBC and Sky One in the UK, will now have an Indian version of it starting on Colors in early 2011,��BizAsia.co.uk��can confirm.

‘Guinness World Records, Ab India Todega’ will allow Indians to showcase their talent and go head-to-head with world record holders from other countries. Guinness World Records will validate the achievements of talented Indians as they attempt to break existing Guinness World Records and also recognise new world records which immortalize the achievements in history.

In recent months, TV channels like Sony Entertainment Television Asia have acquired show formats for ‘X Factor’ and ‘Wife Swap’, Imagine…Dil Se for ‘Wipeout’ and Colors’ for ‘Britain’s Got Talent’.
