Club Asia 963+972AM winning team have done it again, presenter Jas ?The Man? on Drive walked away as Outstanding Young Person of the Year at this year?s Thames Gateway Business Awards.

Atik Rahman, head of on air and online station imaging who was also nominated for the same category was highlighted from the other nominees by receiving a commendation certificate.

It was the first time in the history of the Thames Gateway Business Awards that two people from one company were nominated for the same category of Outstanding Young Person. ?It?s great to see that Jas and Atik were both recognised as outstanding. This of course doesn?t surprise me and the Club Asia team are very proud of them?, Sumerah Ahmad.

Jas ?The Man? on being the winner, ?It was a complete shock to win this award, and it?s a feeling I can?t explain as it still hasn?t sunk in. This is especially meaningful to me as it is the first award I have won for my work and it is still at an early stage of my career. It was great to be presented the award from Angela Rippon, a veteran broadcaster who I remember waking up to watching the news on Channel 4?s Big Breakfast every morning donkey?s years ago. Congratulations to the others nominated from Club Asia also, I?m accepting the award for the team?.

Jas ?The Man? and Atik were not alone, Sumerah Ahmad, Co-founder and Creative Director of Club Asia Radio was singled out by receiving the title of Highly Commended Business Woman of the Year.
