Cineworld has announced it will reopen UK cinemas in May, after signing a deal with production giant Warner Bros. It means that all of its upcoming slate of films will screen at Cineworld cinemas before they are streamed online.
The first title to premiere will be ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ at its US Regal cinemas in the US in early April, before opening in the UK this May.
Under the new deal with Warner Bros, Cineworld can exclusively screen its films for 31-45 days before going online.
“This agreement shows the studio’s commitment to the theatrical business and we see this agreement as an important milestone in our 100-year relationship with Warner Bros,” Cineworld chief executive Mooky Greidinger was cited on BBC News saying.
