Chinese brand VIVO pulls out as headline sponsor of IPL 2020


The Chinese firm, VIVO has confirmed that it will not be sponsoring the upcoming lucrative tournament, Indian Premier League (IPL).

It has been reported that the tensions between India and Chinese, is one of the reasons why VIVO will not be supporting the IPL this year. However, the brand is expected to return as sponsor in 2021 and 2022, as a part of contract. It is worth mentioning that VIVO paid Rs. 2199 crore as headline sponsor for a five-year period.

This year’s IPL will take place from 19th September until November due to the coronavirus delays earlier.
