Chetan Bhagat cut out of ‘Half Girlfriend’
Shraddha Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor will soon be seen in director Mohit Suri’s film adaptation of author Chetan Bhagat’s book ‘Half Girlfriend.’ It had been reported that the filmmaker would stretch his creative liberties with the story and characters of the film and in doing so, Suri has reportedly gone on to cut Bhagat himself out of his own story.
Latest reports suggest that Bhagat, who played a key role in the film as the narrator, had his part cut out. Suri confirmed the news to the media saying that he cut Bhagat’s role in the film, but insisted that the bestselling author was supportive enough to give him a free hand in directing and scripting the film, reports Times of India.
‘Half Girlfriend’ will see Arjun and Shraddha paired up for the first time on screen. The movie revolves around Madhav and Riya’s close friendship that blossom over their love for basketball.
The film is due for release on 19th May.
