Channels switch to Mumbai serial shootings
Indian TV channels have switched to breaking news on coverage of terrorist attacks hitting various parts of Mumbai. Gunmen have targeted hotels, a popular tourist attraction and a crowded train station in at least seven attacks across India’s financial capital.
In the UK, news channels Aaj Tak, STAR News, NDTV 24×7, Geo News, ARY One World, Sky News have switced to rolling breaking news.
ZEE TV brought viewers updates on the breaking news in its regular nightly news at 18:30. BBC News has been dipping in and out updates during the evening.
ZEE Radio in London has scrapped regular programming to make way for breaking news. The station has been taking updates live from Mumbai from ZEE News every half an hour. It also will be fronting live shows at 13:00 today, between 07:00 – 13:00 tomorrow (Friday) and throughout the weekend.
