Channel Punjab’s Sky launch delayed

Channel Punjab’s hopes of launching on the Sky platform today have been hit by a setback.

According to the channel, Sky Digital was to launch its service on EPG 826 but the exact nature of problems have not yet been disclosed.

BizAsia.co.uk understands that Channel Punjab was in midst of an EPG allocation confusion. Last week it was allocated EPG 826 and now it appears that the channel has been allocated EPG 828 which the channel is not happy about.

The tests off the EPG for the channel are showing full programming and EPG information details. This further suggests that the channel had hoped to be added to the Sky EPG today.

Earlier today, Bengali channel NTV made its Sky launch on EPG 826.

Channel Punjab goes live on the Sky EPG exactly a week later than first scheduled on Tuesday 5th September 2006 on EPG 828.

Keep it with BizAsia.co.uk for the latest on this story.
