Channel Punjab celebrates one year; goes free

Channel Punjab is celebrating one year of successful broadcasting this week and has announced that it is going free for the duration of three weeks.

In a statement to BizAsia.co.uk, an insider said, “To celebrate this the Channel will be going free to air for three weeks from the 10th September to enable viewers who have not yet subscribed the opportunity to see the unique and exciting programme content that has captured the imagination of the Punjabi/Asian audience.”

In its first year the Channel has developed new studios in the West Midlands to film and edit UK content to satisfy a demanding consumer. New programmes are in the pipeline and promotions for these shows will be broadcast during the free view window.

After reaching to audiences in the UK and Europe, Channel Punjab’s next aim is to cater for viewers living in India, North America and the Middle East.

Channel Punjab encrypted its broadcast in July.
